Starting Again at Utah Fertility Center

Late in the year of 2014 we decided that we wanted to start looking into all of our options. So we started looking into different clinics all over Utah. We wanted the best and someone who would listen to us, someone who was compassionate and someone who take our treatment seriously.

My cousin reached out to me and told me about her doctor and the clinic she works at. We were hesitant because our last experience wasn't a good one. But my cousin reassured us that this doctor was different. So we set up a consult at the clinic.

Jan 24, 2015 we met with Dr. Conway at Utah Fertility Center, we talked about our past treatments and diagnoses and she went over how she wanted to move forward with a new treatment plan. That day she ran blood work on both of us to check hormone levels and other stuff. I also had a ultrasound to check for cysts on my ovaries and the measurement of the uterus. (ultrasound results looked good) and Jeremy also had to go for another semen analysis. "Reminder that his last SA back in 2011 came back with a 2% morphology" so four years later the new SA came back that everything was normal EVERYTHING so the thing we had to work on was getting my body to ovulate. My blood work came back that my prolactin hormone was off the charts.

This chart shows what the normal levels of prolactin should be. Mine was 68, so our doctor wanted me to go for a MRI to check for a tumor on the pituitary gland in the brain before beginning any treatment. So I went for the MRI the test results came back normal no tumor. So the doctor ended up putting me on the medication bromocriptine to control my prolactin levels as well as a thyroid medication (synthroid) my thyroid levels are normal but for fertility they wanted it a little lower.

A month or so after starting those meds we retook the blood test to see if the hormone levels were back to normal they were so we were able to start our new treatment plan...
